WARTS
REMOVAL by electrocautery
Warts are growth on
skin caused by infections
with human papilloma
virus, or HPV. In
children warts go
away on their own.
In adults, they tend
to stay and multiply.
There are many types
of warts, the most
common of which is
the flat wart.
At Godiva Skin Station,
the flat warts which
may appear in any
area of the body are
removed by electrocautery.
Topical anesthesia
will be applied which
requires 30 - 45 minutes
to numb the skin.
After which, a tool
with a thin, needle-like,
hot tip will be touched
on the wart. The actual
electrocautery procedure
will take from 15
to 60 minutes depending
on the number of warts
to be treated.
Scab will form over
the wart treated.
It will drop off by
itself in 4 - 7 days
depending on wart
size, leaving a small
reddish mark. Complete
healing may take 1
to 2 weeks. Follow
the post-electrocautery
instruction to prevent
infection or scarring.
